DuQuoin, IL
7 November 2007I want to say a few things to those of you from Duquoin, IL that I had the privilege of spending time with this past week at your community revival. What a great time we had over the past three days. God truly did an amazing thing in your community and I am so thankful to have witnessed the life change for so many teens and adults throughout Duquoin.
For those of you who attended one of the schools where I spoke or came to one of the worship services at First Baptist, then you know that truth was spoken to you this week. I want to encourage you to continue pursuing truth.
If you prayed to receive Jesus as your Savoir or chose to allow God to take you further in your walk with Him, remember, what God started in your life this week He wants to continue. God desires to take you on an unbelievable journey into helping you discover who it is He already knows you can be. I hope you will take seriously what He did in your heart and head and that you will choose to allow Him to speak even more into your life in the days to come.
If you are not involved in church, you need to be. You need to surround yourself with people who, just like you, aren’t perfect, but who understand that the key to living an abundant life begins and ends with God. Spending time in the community of followers of Christ is essential to your spiritual growth.
Pastor Joe at First Baptist and Shawn, the youth pastor, are only a phone call away if you need to talk with someone. I know they’d love to have you come check out their church again and the awesome youth group they have.
Also, though I can’t hang with you each week in person, I do want to keep speaking good stuff into your life. So I hope you’ll choose to keep checking out my blog and my podcast, Pause, which you can subscribe to for free on iTunes. Remember, it’s not about getting it all figured out today. It’s about taking it one day at time, allowing God to take you further in life than you could ever imagine going on your own.
